THE EZ-STIx
Vascular Visualization and Stabilization Device
ABOUT THE
DEVICE
EZ-STIX significantly improves cannulation outcomes by both aiding in visualization and then confirming fistula centering by palpation, offering successful first-try cannulation without the likelihood of infiltration.
With no more painful vessel hunting that seemed inevitable with traditional cannulation attempts, EZ-STIX virtually eliminates mis-sticks and retries.
Suitable for use on both natural and tubing fistulas, EZ-STIX enhances the visualization of a vessel while stabilizing it to allow successful needle insertion the first time, significantly reducing trauma.
EZ-STIX comes in 2 formats: a tourniquet style and a spring clamp style. Although they look very different, they both function and accomplish the same goal of visualizing and stabilizing fistulas and blood vessels for needle insertion. The individual’s needs and dexterity dictate which one a patient should use.
The tourniquet style is the more customizable device for a perfect fit and best suited for early fistula formation. It offers 7 manufactured features to produce a consistent best fit for all needs.
The spring clamp design offers 5 manufactured features and is easier to use by a single-handed patients doing their own cannulation but may not be suitable for all patients.
The patient’s treatment specialist, with the assistance of EZ-STIX trained staff, will choose the appropriate version of the device. Multiple device configurations will be provided at no charge until the most perfect fit is accomplished.
Because of the changing nature of the fistula, patients may want both styles to assure perfect cannulations the first time, every time.

What Will Work Best for You?
The Tourniquet Style
This is a more compact design and uses a quick-release tourniquet to affix the device to the patient. It offers 7 features manufactured in the design, enabling the best possible fit and utility.
A single-handed patient or a second-party assistant, if desired, can use this device for home dialysis. (The patient can use an additional tourniquet if needed.) Once applied, EZ-STIX will maintain the vessel in a stable location to prevent vessel rolling.
The device will promote straight needle insertion by centering the vessel between its 2 fingers. Also, the fingers will help the patient locate the proper needle insertion point and visualize the correct initial needle angle.
The Spring Clamp Style

Although significantly faster and easier to use by single-handed patients doing their own cannulation either at home or in-center, this design application does not offer all the fitting features of the tourniquet design.
Flexibility &
What's Right for You
Because of the extensive modifiable features of each style, EZ-STIX is appropriate for juveniles to octogenarians, even with problematic fistulas.
Because of the modest cost of the device, it is common for patients to have both styles so they can choose the one that will work best for their treatment. The inventor of this device used both for cannulations as his fistula was developing.
